Welcome Rea Valley Foodbank

Rea Valley Foodbank was established in September 2022 to respond to local needs. It’s started as a community organisation and became a Registered Charity (no.1217019) in March 2026.  We provides basic groceries and household essentials to people living within the Rea Valley who are in financial difficulties.  Our support is for emergencies or ongoing needs.

Our primary objectives are to provide:

  • food to those who for financial or other reasons are unable to afford to feed themselves without assistance
  • associated support to families experiencing poverty, hunger, social isolation and other life challenges

Our service is for people living throughout the Rea Valley including Hanwood, Pontesbury, Minsterley, Hope, Worthen, White Grit, Bentlawnt, Yockleton, Westbury, Habberley, Snailbeach, Stiperstones and Brockton.

To use our service get referred or contact us yourself, or on behalf of someone else, see our Getting Help page.  Once referred you can collect when the Foodbank is open: every Tuesday 10am to 12 noon at Holy Trinity Church Minsterley, every Thursday 10am to 12 noon at St. George’s Church Pontesbury.  We try to offer a range of goods for users to choose what they need. We may be able to deliver to those that are housebound and have financial difficulties.

Rea Valley Foodbank is governed by a committee of local people that meets regularly. We do not have paid staff, but rely on the involvement of local people as volunteers, to be on the Committee and for the day to day running of the service. Please see our Volunteering page for more information.

Please contact us if you would like a copy of our governing document, have any questions or are interested in becoming a member, joining our committee or volunteering.
